Introduction
I have written extensively about adult learning and development in marginalized populations.
Current interests include older adult learning, living and learning with chronic illness, women's adult learning and development, and issues in the LGBTQ community.
My co-authored text Learning in adulthood: A comprehensive guide. (4th ed) (2020) by Sharan Merriam and myself won the Cyril O. Houle Award for Outstanding Literature in Adult Education.
