Introduction
I have spent almost the whole of my long academic career at the City University of New York. My many research interests are varied and, of course, have changed somewhat over time. I am finally at the point in my career where I can "afford" to do the research I love most, rather than that of the "publish or perish" contingent. :) I have taught many different courses, including programming and Jewish Humor, and I have held a number of administrative positions.

There has been much scholarship regarding Jewish humor and where it might come from. Of course, Jews are not all the same. There are, or have been, Jews in most countries of the world, so there is no single shared Jewish culture or even history-at least over the last 2,000 years. If there is something Jews all over the world do share, it is probabl...

Social justice attempts to make the world a better place, a place where everyone counts, where we treat everyone equitably, and all people have the same opportunity to achieve success.
