Introduction
PhD research into Group Relations Conferences, a training method for understanding the unconscious dynamics within a group and between groups. These conferences pioneered by the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations in London 1957, have spread over the world and branched out into societal issues.
The research is exploratory and quantitative.
A doctoral student from Unisa, I spend most of my time in France and the Netherlands.

This chapter is based on work that was originally done for the Belgirate conference. “Original” can be read in a double sense. Original because it was done for the conference, and original because I decided to do new research as opposed to studying literature and writing a paper out of “old” knowledge.
