Research associate and lecturer at the TU-Darmstadt. He has a M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Stuttgart and the Max-Planck-Institute for Solid State Research and a Ph.D. in Physics from the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen. He worked as a postdoc at the Electron Microscopy for Materials Science (EMAT) group of the University of Antwerp. His research interests are focused on in-situ/operando and Cs- (scanning) transmission electron microscopy and -spectroscopy of functional materials.
