Air pollution has been worse since the Industrial Revolution and is now a significant health issue around the world. In this study, we have focused on assessing spatiotemporal changes in air pollution and its impact on public health status in Jharkhand using MODIS aerosol optical depth (AOD), concentration of particulate matter like PM2.5 and respi...
Climate variables and exposure to air pollution have caused significant decreases in agricultural productivity. This study demonstrates the substantial cumulative effects of pollution in the air on crop yields. To examine satellite-based observations of Particulate Matter (PM2.5), Sulfur dioxide (SO2), Ozone (O3), Nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and Aeroso...
Agriculture is a significant contributor to the country’s economic development. We used multiple Landsat images from 1990 to 2021 in the Murshidabad-Jiaganj Block to assess changes in the agricultural system and their underlying causes. The Rabi season saw a 10.99% growth in agrarian regions from 1990 to 2000 and an 8.86% increase in 2010, yet it d...
The East Kolkata Wetland (EKW) is a Ramsar wetland near the Kolkata megacity. EKW is a vital wetland ecosystem that provides several direct and indirect ecosystem services to the Kolkata metropolitan area. The rapid expansion of urban development near the EKW is exerting significant stress on the EKW, resulting in the fastest rate of wetland degrad...
The startling rate of biodiversity loss, particularly in ecologically delicate coastal environments, is a major environmental concern facing the globe today. As sustainable exploitation of natural resources, including timber and other forest products from tropical rainforests and mangrove habitats, is crucial this research will examine the factors...
The Industrial Revolution has led to a significant increase in air pollution, which poses a significant threat to global health. In this study, we have considered MODIS Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) in conjunction with comprehensive reports on Hypertension reported patients collected from the Annual Health Survey, Census of India, to evaluate spatiot...
One of the major crucial issues that need worldwide attention is open stubble burning, which imposes a variety of adverse impacts on nature and human society, destroying the world’s biodiversity. Many earth observation satellites render information to monitor and assess agricultural burning activities. In this study, different remotely sensed data...
Air quality in Jharkhand, especially the concentration of suspended particles in the atmosphere is gradually affecting Jharkhand’s climate and the health of communities. This study used moderate resolution imaging spectrometer (MODIS) data at 550 nm to investigate the variation in AOD over the entire Jharkhand. The present work deals with the appli...
Aerosols are an inextricably linked component of the atmosphere. Nowadays the study of aerosols has attracted the attention of the world community due to the increasing concerns over air pollution and climate change. Aerosol optical depth (AOD) is the measure of aerosols distributed within the atmospheric column from the Earth's surface to the top...

Bengal is blessed with the significance of water resources in the
form of a large number of river systems, ponds, floodplains,
and wetlands. Aquaculture in the coastal areas is one of the most
rapid-growing economic and nutrient sources of the growing
population. In this study, we delineate the...
Geomorphologically, Sundarban is the active portion of the Gangetic delta in which the processes of land formation and erosion, ebb wave activeness are pronounced. The important productive and profit oriented sector in Sundarban after agriculture is aquaculture. The main aim of the study is to assess the suitable site selection of fishing zones for...
One of the most usual and emergent tropical anadromous species is Hilsa (Tenualosa ilisha) in West Bengal and Bangladesh. It is very popular as well as commercial fishes in Bengali cuisine. Estuary plays a significant role to make breeding and nursery grounds for different biotic and abiotic organisms. The estuary system is very much productive whe...
The Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) has measured using remote sensing and GIS methods, with MODIS data collected in Jharkhand from 2011 to 2017. The state's eastern and northern borders have greater aerosol loadings (AOD: >0.5) while the southern and western parts have lower aerosol loadings (AOD: <0.3). Primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary aer...
Super cyclonic storm Amphan was a disastrous and violent tropical cyclone that caused a lot of damage in the Sundarban region from 16th May-21st May 2020. This study has been focused on Sentinel-1A Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) dataset in comparison to multispectral remote sensing dataset for the identification and measurement of the inland waterb...

I want to download the Wind Direction and Wind Speed Data over land...
Please, give me the link from where I can get the overpass time (local time) of any satellite in any place in the globe...
I am trying to download MODIS Aqua Data in batch so that I can get all the required data with a single click.
Please tell me, how can I download MODIS Aqua, Level 1 data easily?
I am using the "NO2 Tropospheric Column (30% Cloud Screened) (OMNO2d v003)" data from GIOVANNI. But I need to convert the unit from Molecules/CM^2 to µg/m3 Unit.
Link to the data is given here: https://giovanni.gsfc.nasa.gov/giovanni/#service=TmAvMp&starttime=&endtime=&data=OMNO2d_003_ColumnAmountNO2TropCloudScreened
I was trying to calculate the MODIS AOD values using MOD04_L2 Data products over India, it was getting a range of AOD is -0.05 to 1.812. But sir, if I am trying to see that file (same file) in the LAADS DAAC website by "view image" it is showing the value range 0 to 1. In this regard, I have two queries-
1. What is the valid maximum and minimum values range of AOD product?
2. Is there any scale factor what I have to apply in my processed outcome data what is varying -0.05 to 1.812 ?
What are the advantages of dark target deep blue combined algorithm in AOD monitoring?
I need the wind direction and wind velocity data from 2000 to 2020 over India.
