Introduction
Cellular & Molecular Microbiologist with interest in microbial genomics and ecology, antimicrobial resistance, tools for synthetic biology engineering and molecular diagnostics. I am interested in (1) understanding the role of microbial communities in the environment and in health/disease; (2) application of next-generation sequencing and genomics to better understand the molecular basis and pathways of diseases; (3) designing biotools for synthetic engineering of microbes for biomass conversion; and (4) investigations into the shuttling and evolution of antibiotic resistance between microbial communities in the environment, animals and humans.
