What do You think, Dear Collaborators, about scientific periodic e.g. "Stability of Structures" ?
Would it be helpful for us to publish our papers ?
How many of us would be willing to take duty as a board member or referee ?
So periodic should be as a part of RSGate, or should have its own web address , or should be a part of any university publishing house ?
What do You think about it, Dear Collaborators ?
Yours faithfully
Krzysztof Murawski
... the paper is titled: "Evaluation of mathematical solutions for the determination of buckling of columns under self-weight " ... ,
... so maybe somebody from our Project "Stability of structure under its own weight" wants to help us and give his opinion ...
We would be grateful ... , and maybe the next paper we would write together ...
best regards
K Murawski
OBS.: Authors may suggest up to four potential reviewers from different countries and different universities. Each reviewer's academic/professional position, scientific expertise, full affiliation and email address should be provided. The suggested reviewers should not be affiliated to the same university/institution as any of the authors.
Which assumption of the loss of carrying capacity of the axially compressed column in an elastic state is better: an appearing of a critical force (Euler's), or an exit a force line from a critical transverse cross-section (tech. stability theory) ?
Which describing of displacement of an axis of the column is better:
(1) as a part of a sine curve and the boundary conditions - like in the Euler's theory,
or
(2) as determined by the formula of the radius of a curve (1/ro=d2y/dx2) and the boundary conditions - like in the technical stability theory,
... and why ?
What is a system of an academic carrier in Your country ... ? , and which is better ... ?
I have heard about two basic known systems of the academic carrier:
1. "Parisian" - throw grades like: assistant, adjunct, professor of the university, titled professor ... , and You may get throw them in the same university (in the same building, in the same room, at the same desk ...) depending on opinions of Your supervisors,
2. "Bolognian" - only two grades: post-doc and professor of the university ... , but after a period (e.g. 4 years) every academic is fired and must take a part in a competition to be employed again (in the same or another university).
What is the role of a good/bad author law and patent law in the academic carrier ... ? , ... especially in those above systems ...
How do You think ... ?
I had noted that a few of my papers and books haven't got published references in the ResearchGate, what cause that cites are not visible for the cited authors in the ResearchGate, i.e. the cites are not "accepted" by the ResearchGate.
I am afraid that it limits my cooperation with other authors in the ResearchGate.
I have noted that in a few papers and books of other authors, there is the same situation …
What is the reason of those limitations ? , ... too many references in 1-2 pages paper ... ? , or in a few pages book ? , ... only a few papers in researches of an author ... ? , ... paper or book published in unknown publishing house ... ? , ... an unknown university or institute the author works, or he is independent ...? , ... a country in which the author lives ... ?
What could be the reasons ... ? , ... how do You think ... ?
