Introduction
I am a phD student and working on the research projekt "Future Skills.Applied" on immersive digital labs with virtual reality and 360 degree technology.
My research interests focus on the relationship between gamification and e-learning with focus on learner experience. Always having in mind accessibility.

Gamification is widely known and implemented for various purposes. But it is also criticized for recurring lack of quality. Many researchers developed gamification frameworks and tools to ensure a purposeful gamification, but these theoretical frameworks are used by less than half of gamification research. There are numerous gamification frameworks...
Voice User Interfaces (VUIs) are becoming increasingly available while users raise, e.g., concerns about privacy issues. User Experience (UX) helps in the design and evaluation of VUIs with focus on the user. Knowledge of the relevant UX aspects for VUIs is needed to understand the user’s point of view when developing such systems. Known UX aspects...

As my phD research I want to find a way, to find the best gamification approach for any kind of context. Gamification frameworks and processes are getting developed every day but are only used by 50% of gamification research. I want to help researchers and operatives to find the best framework for their project, so that future research can profit from these researches and not every project has to start with the development of a new framework.
How to solve social issues with computer science techniques
Together with my colleagues, we have a bigger picture which is presented in our Reserach Group on: https://www.researchgate.net/lab/Research-Group-for-Agile-Software-Development-and-User-Experience-Joerg-Thomaschewski
Here we have current Rearch from my active members: Andreas M. Klein, Kristina Kölln and Anna Weigand.
Digitization/hybridization of STEM lab courses, addition of "immersive digital labs" to lab courses.
With the Immersive Digital Lab, University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer creates practical courses using a combination of virtual reality and gamification, which are made available to all universities via the OER portal.
Instead of working through linear-deterministic experimental procedures, students can make independent decisions, act interactively, correct mistakes and pursue alternative solutions. Through gamification and challenged-based learning, the intrinsic motivation of students is promoted, learning success is increased, and digital fatigue is prevented.
