Introduction
Krishnanunni is a recent graduate of the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's Sustainable Tropical Forestry programme, with a specialization in forest and livelihoods. His research interests revolve around sustainable livelihoods, food security, and climate-smart agriculture.

It contains the abstract of my oral presentation that I made at the ELLS Scientific Students Conference 2020 in Vienna, Austria. My work was on the livelihood and market prospects of shea caterpillars, an edible pest species found associated with shea trees in the Sahel-Savannah belt of Africa.
The study reports the shortening of the seed germination time of Borassus flabellifer seeds in the nursery. We explored the fact that increased rhizosphere temperature at the initial stage of germination would enhance the palm seeds germination.
