Driven by the need for radical change in our practices and values to escape crises, studies on sustainability transitions have multiplied in recent years. Such radical transformations are situated in space. A spatial approach towards transformative processes can thus inform about the conditions and contexts of such dynamics. Recent publications on...

In the context of globalisation, the urban phenomenon is a type of organisation that currently structures most of the global population. Cities are seen as the spatial concentration of global production and consumption processes and the nodal points of global exchanges. Regional economic studies explain such (economic) concentration processes by an...

The project's research focuses on educational and Life Long Learning (LLL) - rather than social or artistic issues. The main questions analysed in this research project are the following: do cross-border movements of artists generate LLL processes? Do they boost creativity and innovation? How do they affect learner-teacher dynamics? And can non-for...

Since decolonisation, a succession of development models has been transferred from France towards North African countries. The failure of the industrial development approach on national level opened the way for local development in the late 1980’s, and the power of globalisation dynamics recently gave birth to the “territorial development” model. T...
