Introduction
Currently I'm working on a project investigating local movement ecology of Purple Martins within the mid-Atlantic region using Motus (radio telemetry) and radar. I'm interested in how local movement changes over time from when the birds arrive in the spring, through the breeding season, and as they gather in large pre-migratory roosts in the fall. Project
We aim to describe the individual movements of Purple Martins around the Mid-Atlantic using radio telemetry (via the Motus network). We also aim to describe characteristics of 'local' pre-migratory martin roosts using radar data.
Archived project
We mapped autumn stopover habitat of migratory birds in Rhode Island using weather radar data. This work was in collaboration with the Rhode Island Breeding Bird Atlas Project.
