This project examines the the use of pragmatic markers by speakers of Trinidadian English and Trinidadian English Creole in computer mediated communication (CMC). My current research looks at the use of vocatives (familiarisers) and their distribution, how they vary by speaker and addressee, and how these forms are used to index various stances during interaction in an online community of practice.
