The project focuses on the increase of public awareness of the importance and value of functions and ecosystem services of forests and close to nature riverbeds in urban areas in the Czech Republic.

Cílem představovaného projektu je na základě terénních šetření při zjišťování četných kvantitativních ukazatelů (koncentrace návštěvníků, způsoby využívání lesů, finanční náročnost, atd.) a zejména na základě kvalitativních ukazatelů (poukázání na problémy, objasnění problémů vzniklých při rekreačních aktivitách v lese, nalezení příkladných způsobů dobré praxe, limitů a řešení), posoudit míru veřejného zájmu na lesích a navrhnout podklady pro komunikační strategii s veřejností na příkladu modelového území Třeboňské pánve (v užším zaměření se jedná zejména o oblasti lesní správy Třeboň, Hluboká nad Vltavou, Nové Hrady, Jindřichův Hradec a Tábor). Projekt se detailněji zaměří na lesní správu Třeboň, a rámcově potom na ostatní výše jmenované oblasti. Hlavní očekávané výsledky projektu: 1) Návrh rámcových směrnic hospodaření pro lesy se zvýšenou rekreační funkcí na základě analýzy trvalých ekologických podmínek a s ohledem na komunikaci s veřejností pro PLO 15b Třeboňská pánev včetně zohlednění ekonomických aspektů plnění funkcí lesa; 2) Metodický postup pro práci s veřejností při provádění pěstebních a těžebních a dalších hospodářských opatřeních v lese (nahodilé těžby, problematika ochrany lesů) –„komunikace vedená lesníky a komunikace vedená pro lesníky“ – vypracování požadavků; 3) Metodická doporučení a kritéria pro vyhlašování rekreačních lesů (modelový podkladu pro revizi kategorizace lesů v rámci obnovy LHP); 4) Zpracování ukázkových osvětových přednášek pro komunikaci s veřejností (dle odbornosti) a podkladových materiálů (včetně ověření zpětné vazby); 5) Kvantifikace peněžních toků a přínosů lesní správy pro lokální ekonomiku a rozvoj regionu; 6) Zpracování komparace legislativy v oblasti požadavků spolčenosti na lesnictví a požadavků lesnictví od společnosti při pohybu v lese (posouzení legislativních norem, uvedení příkladů řešení).
