Introduction
I am an academic rheumatologist working in Thailand. I am passionate about studying and providing care for people living with crystal-induced arthritis, particularly gout. I completed a PhD from the University of Otago, where I developed a clinical prediction rule for gout flare during hospitalization. My research focuses on the epidemiology, risk stratification and impact of gout flare.

Although the 5-level EQ-5D version (EQ-5D-5L) instrument has been used to determine health-related quality of life and health utility in gout, it is used in comparing health utility among gout flare (GF) and non-gout flare (non-GF) patients is still limited. This study aimed to compare health utility among GF and non-GF patients in Thailand. In thi...

Background: Although EuroQol 5-domain (EQ-5D) of the 5-level version (5L) instrument has been used to determine quality of life and health utility in gout, the health utility among patients with gout flare (GF) and non-gout flare (non-GF) is still limited. This study aimed to measure the utility values among GF and non-GF patients in Thailand. Meth...

Background Methotrexate (MTX) has been recommended as the first-line treatment in the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) guidelines for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Long-term MTX usage possesses a known side-effect of hepatic fibrosis, which is associated...

Vaccine hesitancy poses a significant global health challenge, fueled by misinformation and anti-vaccination campaigns on social media platforms (SMPs). This study examines the influence of social media on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and non-COVID-19 vaccination in Asia during the peri-pandemic period. Through a comprehensive analysis of av...

Background and Objectives: Methotrexate (MTX) is routinely prescribed for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients, but high cumulative doses may lead to hepatic fibrosis. Additionally, a high proportion of RA patients suffer from metabolic syndrome, which also increases the risk of hepatic fibrosis. This cross-sectional study aimed to explore the associ...

Objective The study aimed to describe the prevalence and outcomes of gout flare in patients with comorbid gout hospitalized for COVID-19. Factors associated with gout flare, and hospital length of stay were explored. Methods This retrospective cohort study included adults with comorbid gout who were hospitalized for PCR-confirmed COVID-19 between...

Objective: To describe people with gout who were diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and hospitalized and to characterize their outcomes. Methods: Data on patients with gout hospitalized for COVID-19 between March 12, 2020, and October 25, 2021, were extracted from the COVID-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance registry. Descriptive st...

Objectives:To develop and validate a gout flare risk stratification tool for people with gout hospitalised for non-gout conditions. Methods: The prediction rule for inpatient gout flare was derived from a cohort of 625 hospitalised people with comorbid gout from New Zealand. The rule had four items: (1) no pre-admission GOut flare prophylaxis, (2)...

Objectives Hospitalisation is a risk factor for flares in people with gout. However, the predictors of inpatient gout flare are not well understood. The aim of this study was to develop a prediction model for inpatient gout flare among people with comorbid gout. Methods We used data from a retrospective cohort of hospitalised patients with comorbi...
