Introduction
K. N. Anil Raj did his PhD from Manimohan’s lab, Dept. of Botany, University of Calicut, Kerala, India. His PhD thesis is entitled 'A Floristic Study of the Family Entolomataceae of Kerala State, India. Then he had a six month Post Doctoral Research experience in the same lab and worked on the phylogenetic studies Family Entolomataceae of Kerala State. Currently he is working as an Assistant Professor in Dept. of Botany, Mahatma Gandhi Government Arts College (MGGAC), New Mahe. He is still engaged in the studies on agarics of Kerala State.

The Global Consortium for the Classification of Fungi and fungus-like taxa is an international initiative of more than 550 mycologists to develop an electronic structure for the classification of these organisms. The members of the Consortium originate from 55 countries/regions worldwide, from a wide range of disciplines, and include senior, mid-ca...
This article is the 15th contribution in the Fungal Diversity Notes series, wherein 115 taxa from three phyla, nine classes, 28 orders, 48 families, and 64 genera are treated. Hygrocybe snigdha sp. nov. is described from Kerala State, India, based on both morphology and molecular phylogeny. This species is characterized by small basidiocarps with a deep red, strongly viscid pileus with an orange-white margin, dimorphic basidiospores and basidia, lamella-edges with abundant pseudocystidia, and an ixocutis-type pileipellis...
Pseudosperma indicum sp. nov. is described from Kerala State, India, based on morphology and DNA-based multigene phylogenetic analyses. A comprehensive description of this new species, including both macro- and microscopic characteristics, photographs of both the basidiocarps and the microscopic structures, line drawings of macro- and microscopic s...
Calocybella Vizzini, Consiglio & Setti is a lyophylloid genus recently erected, based primarily on molecular phylogeny. Although the genus was originally described from Europe, several of the subsequently described species of Calocybella are from tropical India. Here, we present an account of all Calocybella species known from India including a spe...
An interesting species of lepiotaceous fungi, Leucoagaricus callainitinctus sp. nov., is described from Kerala State, India based on morphology and molecular phylogeny. This species is distinguished by basidiocarps that turn dark turquoise on bruising/handling or reacting with NH 4 OH. A phylogenetic study was conducted based on Maximum likelihood...
This article is the ninth in the series of Fungal Diversity Notes, where 107 taxa distributed in three phyla, nine classes, 31 orders and 57 families are described and illustrated. Taxa described in the present study include 12 new genera, 74 new species, three new combinations, two reference specimens, a re-circumscription of the epitype, and 15 r...
Laccaria violaceotincta sp. nov. is described from Kerala State, India based on morphology and molecular phylogeny. All the collections of the species were made from a freshwater swamp forest predominantly composed of species of Myristica. The Maximum Likelihood (ML) analysis of sequence of the internal transcribed spacer (nrITS) of the ribosomal R...
