We have studied the role of the nucleon isobars Δ(1232) and N* = N(1440) in deuteron electromagnetic form factors. Here we report on our results for the electric structure function A(q 2) of elastic e − d scattering in the domain 0 ≤ q 2 ≤ 80 fm −2 of momentum transfers.

Nucleon polarization in deuteron electrodisintegration with polarized beam and target is studied in the standard theory with inclusion of relativistic corrections. The sensitivity of nucleon polarization to the neutron charge form factor G E n is discussed at the quasi-elastic peak. Two new components very sensitive to G E n models are picked out.
