Hello everyone,
I am recording wide dynamic range and nociceptive specific spinal cord neurons innervating the hind paw in anesthetized mice. I am currently trying to backfire those neurons from the cervical cord to confirm (or not) that they are projection neurons. I use home made micro bipolar stimulating electrodes (Ag or Ag/Cl or Pt/Ir). Success rate is low...Would you recommend to perform monopolar stimulation rather than bipolar? Would you see an advantage to stick to an old fashioned Ag/Cl rather than Pt/Ir electrode?
