Project
The aim of the project is to provide new insights into the dynamics of crises news and information ecosystem. The empirical context of the study is Covid19 and Finland. The main research questions are: i) what are the characteristics of local crisis information and news ecosystem, ii) what kind roles and relations are constructed to different actors in their coverage of the pandemic iii) how do people gather, make sense and participate in creating corona-related information and experiences.
Project
The project examines how local communication and journalism operate in the same field but according to different principles in Finland in the beginning of the 2020s. The main question is what are the ethical principles and practices local media and other operators rely on when producing and creating information. This is being studied from the perspectives of makers’ self-perceptions, cases and future of journalism. The project relies theoretically on journalism, communication and future studies.
Project
The foresight part of Neo-Carbon Energy project, conducted in the Finland Futures Research Centre, explores possible futures of a distributed renewables-based energy production and storage system. Case studies from African countries are included. Lifestyle changes and prosumerism are driving economic, political, cultural and social changes. As a result, radically new innovations, services and practices could emerge.
