My primary research interests involve the interplay of innovation, (social) relations and knowledge from the perspective of innovation, management and spatial theory, including new forms of entrepreneurship and future business models. Focal areas of work cover e.g. social innovation & its economic underpinning, innovation measurement innovation strategies, regional development, smart & inclusive growth, networks & cluster, sectoral/regional analysis.

The project deals with the identification and operationalization of
factors, that constitute power constellations and thus the possibilities and limits of the influence of (migrant) entrepreneurs. Starting from the hypothesis of varying power relations, active empowerment of vulnerable groups of people who have so far been less involved in the decision-making processes, may be socially and economically beneficial for local ecosystem and actor constellations.
The ReCOVery project uses guideline-based in-depth interviews to investigate how migrant entrepreneurs are positioned in times of COVID-19 and with which strategies, resources and skills they are trying to cope with the current crisis situation. It is primarily intended to provide evidences for subsequent in-depth studies in order to shed light on the above-mentioned aspects in their mutual dependency and interaction.
