Introduction
Juan Carlos Aceros is psychologist. He received his master's degree in Social Psychology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2005. He did his doctoral research in the same university, and he obtained his PhD in Social Psychology in 2013. His dissertation dealth with the shaping of the 'public' in 'public participation', which is one of his main fields of research. Other topics in which Juan Carlos has been making research are care practices, social movements and technology use.

El proyecto pretende considerar, paralelamente, las iniciativas botton-up y top-down en asuntos relacionados con las políticas, programas y servicios orientados a personas en situación de dependencia. El supuesto del que partimos es que indagar sobre la reunión en un mismo colectivo de expertos y no-expertos supone una manera de estudiar y mejorar los vínculos entre democracia y ciencia, lo cual es una necesidad acuciante en las sociedades del conocimiento. Por otra parte el estudio de estos colectivos híbridos, cuando se focaliza en grupos cuya voz es susceptible de ser silenciada, da lugar a procesos que posibilitan un ejercicio pleno de la ciudadanía. Así pues, este proyecto coordinado se aproxima a fenómenos sociales de primer orden en la actualidad (el aumento de la participación pública) y lo hace de una manera coherente con el objeto de estudio mismo (favoreciendo procesos de investigación participativa y abriendo espacios de diálogo entre ciudadanos legos y expertos).
