Dear all,
Have you research in-situ or ex-situ (biological methanation) biomethanation? Especially I would be interested to hear about pilot scale biomethanation work that you have done. If there are some public reports. At least ex-situ seems to be somewhat possible in pilot scale. In-situ maybe has been less studied in pilot scale but maybe you have done some laboratory work. I would be interested on data that would be useful for an LCA study on utilizing ex-situ or in-situ biomethanation in a case biogas plant in Finlan.
Best wishes

I am working in in Academy of Finland project (NITRO https://research.lut.fi/converis/portal/Project/11104794?auxfun=&lang=en_GB ) and we are looking into adsorbents for ammonia recovery from liquid and gas. Adsorbents include sunghite and biochar. Have you had experience on either of the adsorbents in ammonia capture from air or liquid? We would like to capture nitrogen from waste streams and utilize it in agriculture or other applications. Biochar from sewage sludge would therefore be good since if ammonia is adsorbed there, biochar could be then spread on arable land. Sunghite would most likely require desorption and nitrogen capture to some other material.
Dear all,
Do you know any recipes for alkali-activated mortars where some waste material/by-product would have been used as the activator?
Specifically, I would be interested in recipes for these kinds of alkali-activated mortars
- two-part alkali-activated mortar with alkali-activator is derived from chemically modified RHA
- one-part alkali-activated mortar with alkali-activator from waste glass derived alkali activator.
- two-part alkali-activated mortar with alkali-activator is derived waste glass
- one-part alkali-activated mortar with alkali-activator from waste glass derived alkali activator.
I am interested to calculate the change in environmental impacts when changing from open dumping of slaughterhouse waste to a rendering process.
I'm looking ways to utilize fish waste after the separation of oil for energy production.
It seems that usually the output/input or input/output ratio is used, but I would like to know if there are other useful metrics.
