Introduction
Jonathon Richter, Ed.D. is co-founder and Executive Director of the Immersive Learning Research Network (iLRN), a global non-profit corporation dedicated to finding and showcasing the evidence for "what works" in immersive learning experiences. His research interest is, thus, in defining and cultivating immersive learning research across the disciplines. Richter is also Chair of Digital Design Tech at Salish Kootenai College on the Flathead Indian Reservation and performs research and evaluation of design projects at the University of Montana's Broader Impacts Groups. His research interests locally are in co-design of the choreography, assessment, & evaluation of cross-reality experiences situating people, land, wilderness, and natural resources in culturally meaningful experiences.

The construct of identity play, which involves the exploration and experimentation with possible future selves, is underexplored in organizational literature. To extend theory on identity play, we take a narrative inquiry approach and examine qualitative interview data in the context of virtual environments. Using a sociomateriality perspective, we...

Project
The vision of the immersive Learning Research Network (iLRN) is to develop a comprehensive research and outreach agenda that encompasses the breadth and scope of learning potentialities, affordances and challenges of immersive learning environments. To achieve this, the iLRN mission is to invite and organize scientists, practitioners, organizations, and innovators across the disciplines to explore, describe, and apply the optimal use of immersive worlds and environments for educational purposes. Further the conference, meetings, and virtual symposia aim to build capacity to explain and demonstrate how these immersive learning environments best work using a variety of rigorous, systematic, and meaningful research methods and outreach strategies.
