As I see it, Space~Time is 3-spatial dimensions i.e. (x,y,z) plus 1-time dimension. These, generally, intersect and right angles -- allowing for separate partial differentials with respect to time -- thus describing spatial curvature vs. temporal curvature. Any proposed dimensions beyond 4 ought to include these as a subset.
Seems to me that if String Theory had clearly defining its own dimensional framework UP FRONT then these quantum-scale vibrating strings would have a context in which to have meaning -- not floating willy-nilly.
Without this how could any of the "beautiful equations" that I read about (and, as yet, to understand have meaning?
I contend that Space~Time is a polar coordinate domain where the radial dimension is quantized -- an integer count of number of Planck-times since "the Beginning" of time. I see Space as a 3D Event Horizon -- I call the Now-Manifold -- the holographic surface containing the 4D Space~Time volume of all of physical existence. Given this Space~Time framework -- the mystery of Dark Energy simply vanishes and this proposed 4D-polar domain becomes the foundation for unifying Quantum Field Theories with all 3-Relativity Theories: Special, General & Cosmological. Cosmological Relativity introduces an awareness of the distinction between UNITY (1-quantum of time, 1-quantum of length, 1-quantum of mass, 1-quantum of charge) these are fundamental and always = 1. Whereas, all our metrics of (seconds, meters, kilograms & Coulombs are emergent and thus covariant. But, Cosmological Relative is whole other topic, we'll save for another discussion thread.)
How much of String Theory (or M-Theory) could be mapped into or connect with this quantized framework? I do believe that 11 Dimensional M-Theory does have merit. But however it gets defined it MUST comply with this relation:
G = (t_P^2) * q_P * sqrt( K_m*(c^11) / hBar^3 )
Where:
G is Newton's Gravitation constant, 6.674292323157e-11 [m3/kg s2] 9e-12 relative uncertainty
t_P is Planck Time = 5.39124334778150e-44 [second] 5e_12 relative uncertainty.
q_P is Planck Charge = 1.87554603829021e-18 [Coulombs] 3e-12 relative uncertainty.
K_m is Magnetic Force constant = 1e-7 [N/A2] or [H/m] 0 uncertainty by definition.
c^11 is the speed of light to the 11th power -- an 11th dimensional concept.
hBar is the reduced Planck constant = 1.05457181764616e-34 9e-12 (uncertainty debatable)
Incidentally, Planck mass = 2.17643559439662e-8 [kg] 5e-12 relative uncertainty.
