Introduction
Joanna Szczepańska-Gieracha graduated from Department of Physiotherapy at University School of Physical Education in Wroclaw in 1998. In 2004 she completed her PhD and in 2012 she achieved professor position at Department of Physiotherapy University School of Physical Education in Wroclaw, Poland. In 2018 she gained the European Association for Psychotherapy Certificate. She has published more than 50 papers about the role of psychological aspects in rehabilitation process. She is a member of the Committee of Rehabilitation, Physical Education and Social Integration of Polish Academy of Science. Currently she runs the project “VR Tier One – virtual therapeutic game supporting rehabilitation of post-stroke patients” financed by Polish National Center of Research and Development.
