How we measure 'reads'
A 'read' is counted each time someone views a publication summary (such as the title, abstract, and list of authors), clicks on a figure, or views or downloads the full-text. Learn more

Introduction
Jeremy Fiennes currently works on relativity and quantum physics, disagreeing with the standard approaches to both. During his engineering days he developed a novel magnetic approach to modelling electrical machines. His latest interest is the psychopathology of aether-phobia.

Dayton Miller realized that both his and Michelson-Morley's aether-wind speeds were far too low. Cahill showed that this was due to their having failed to consider 1) the FitzGerald-Lorentz length contraction; 2) the refractive index of air. Correcting for these, the true solar system speed through the aether is ~400 km/s, compatible with one-way a...

The current "secondary electron field" explanation for light propagation in dense media is discussed and found wanting. Principally because it can't. explain the Fizeau result. The absorbtion-reemission model is shown to do so.

No. Even more so! An argument exactly analogous to the one Einstein uses to "prove" the equivalence principle refutes it. 'Warped spacetime' is a nonsense found only in warped minds. GR spectacularly fails to account for Hubble expansion. And it incorporates the SR postulates, shown by the clock absurdity to be rationally incoherent.

Recollections of a past existence as an aborigine in Australia, around 1930. Then I went there and found the place.

The Hafele-Keating experiment and CC C. Su's satellite signal time analysis suggest that in the region of the Earth light propagates through a 'local aether' that accompanies its orbital motion. Cahill's breakdown of Miller's interfer-ometer results however contradicts this. The exact nature of the aether-gravity relation remains obscure.

Special Relativity's clock absurdity is a simpler version of its better known 'twin paradox'. It provides its most direct refutation. (8 pages.)

Einsteinian Relativity is rationally contradictory and therefore wrong. A logically coherent alternative is the Lorentz Aether Model in its original form. It describes the standard phenomena of clock slowing, length contraction and mass increase with no illogicality. (9 pages)

Totally. Based on the definition of 'mass', the concept of separate inertial and gravitational masses is meaningless. .

Two different 'times' are distinguished: 1) a 'specific time' with an attributable quantitative value, as in "What is the time?"; and 2) 'time-in-general' as in "What is time?". Both are mental abstractions with no physical correlates.

If absolutely everything in the universe derives from the Big Bang, then there has to be absolute space and time in terms of it. NEWTON RIGHT AGAIN! (Sorry Albert, not even you can hope to fool all of the people all of the time.) The idea is developed, and the universe's 'expansional shape' (open, closed or flat) is then derived by simple mechanics...

Quantum reality is apparently indeterminate. It could however be essentially determinate, but with an inherently inacessible 'subliminal substrate'. This would also account for apparent radioactive indeter-minacy and dark matter.

We conceive the universe as determined, subject always to the Laws of Nature, with no indeterminacy or chance. We cannot prove this. But it can be shown to our only viable assumption. But since in practice we cannot predict the universe's future, principally because we ourselves are part of it, we experience it as indeterminate and our¬selves as fr...

Einstein's Special Relativity is based on two fundamental assumptions, the so-called Einstein postulates. The second 'constant speed of light' postulate predicts that two inertial observers – for instance two twins in spaceships free-floating in outer space – will each see the other's clock running slower than his own. The first 'relativity' postul...

The existence of the electromagnetic aether is argued from two standpoints. Conceptual, based on the nature of physical waves. And practical: the various experiments that demonstrate it. Possible reasons for the strange nullification of the positive 1887 Michelson-Morley aether-wind result are discussed.

Quantum physics works exceptionally well in practice. It has justifiably been called "the most successful scientific theory ever". Its problems are interpretational: how to make sense of its rational contradictions. The question having occupied some of humanity's best brains for nearly a century with spectacular lack of success, one is led to suspe...
