Introduction
A majority of research in postural control indicates the effect of development and sporting expertise. Nevertheless, these contributions account for only a part of motor behavior. Another part is explained by inter-individual differences.
The objective is to identify the contribution of sensory information through simple to complex balancing tasks and finally to an ecological situation. The understanding of multi-sensory integration will bring us new knowledge about postural and motor control

Introduction
Compared to judokas (JU) and non-athletes (NA), horseback riders (HR) may develop specific changes in their sensory control of balance.
Methods
Thirty-four international-level JU, twenty-seven international-level HR and twenty-one NA participated. Participants stood upright on a plateform (static condition) or on a seesaw device with...
Background: A high level of sport practice may improve adaptive postural control specifically.
Research question: The objective of this study was to examine how specific high-level sport practices may impact the static posture, especially the use of visual and plantar information.
Methods: To this aim, postural performances have been compared bet...
Introduction
The purpose of this study was to determine whether the UPST was objectived by stabilometric parameters in both bipodal and unipodal stations.
Method
Twenty-six women, 15 men, average age 34 ± 6.9 years, are divided into 2 groups by an expert practitioner according to the results of the UPST. They were then evaluated in bipodal stance...
Introduction
This study experiments the incidence of a 2 mm thin median bar (BM®) and truncated median bar (BMt®) plantar relief in bilateral pelvic instabilities, considering the effect of the presence or not of plantar afferences inefficiency on unipedal stabilometric performance [1].
Method
Eleven subjects with bilateral pelvic instability at...
Introduction
The flat foot (FF) is a very frequent reason for consultation in clinical posturology. The aim of FF management is to refocus the anteroposterior axis of the foot and to minimize the effects of pronation on stability. In this context, we hypothesized that biomechanical plantar stimuli such as “Internal Band” (BI®) could change knee fl...
Horseback riding requires the ability to adapt to changes in balance conditions, to maintain equilibrium on the horse and to prevent falls. Postural adaptation involves specific sensorimotor processes integrating visual information and somesthesic information. The objective of this study was to examine this multisensorial integration on postural co...
Dependent variables recorded through the force platform: Surface area covered by the CoP (mm2), Mean velocity of CoP (mm/s), VFY, Romberg Quotient of Surface area in different balance conditions: stable standing posture, unstable standing postures (AP seesaw and ML seesaw); and in different sensory conditions: Vision, No Vision, No Foam, Foam.

Summary: Balance is an important paramount in rider posture. The expert rider demonstrates a specific characterisation: his attention is shared both on external information, related to the environment, but also on internal information, related to the body (proprioceptive information). The aim of this study was to evaluate the contribution of a spec...
Maintaining balance is a multi-sensory integration that will allow the human body to align the result of the reaction forces from the ground with that of gravity. This couple that prepares the action and ensures the effectiveness of the gesture, is constantly compromised. When acquiring bipedalism, the knee presents a very unique and specific role...
Questions
Question (1)
After reading about the reliability of the wii balance, I would like to know if someone would have adequate programs to extract the data from the CoP?
