The mechanisms of all life and ecosystems on Earth have a spiritual dimension of interconnectedness. We refer to such patterns as the process of dynamic, awareness-driven clustering, which applies as much to the microscopic molecular world of energetic connectivity that formed the earliest and smallest forms of life, as to the complex world of DNA...

The method represents a new level of regional development through participatory engagement. It is referred to as Sustainocracy and involves local citizens, government, innovative entrepr...
[Full text: https://www.westminster.ac.uk/eco-cities/reflections] This essay begins by reflecting on the fact that the city of Eindhoven has been declared the 'smartest city in the world' at a time when, paradoxically, it was suffering from major problems, including crime and air pollution. What could be lacking from such a model so that it has the...
With this summarized research report, AiREAS substantiates the wish and need to establish to a broadly supported Health Deal between the population of any region in the world and its executive governance. In our theory, we expected to be able to trigger entrepreneurship while helping people to resonate with healthy city
development by offering raw and processed data to which they could relate.

many cities in the world can be seen in the present day as being a community of a singular cultural background. Most have seen migration patterns from within and outside their national boundaries. Eindhoven itself grew instantly to 40,000 inhabitants in 1920, when the small transit town of about 6000 souls annexed 5 villages so as to gain in si...
In April 2015, AiREAS was contacted by TNO
, a powerful Dutch technological research organization, who had become a member of the AiREAS value-driven community one year earlier. During that year, we had been looking at ways to get TNO involved in our projects. This time, it was TNO itself that came up with the proposition.
In August 2015, one of our partners in the regional government pointed out to us that the Marathon
of Eindhoven that year was subsidized based on an innovation clause.
When we started using the ILM
real time, air quality measurement system in 2013, the ‘what next?” question arose amongst the AiREAS group. Our cooperative venture for creating a healthy city
was not just meant to make visible the invisible but also to do something with what we see. The ILM gave us a first detailed glance into the quality of our own...
In autumn 2015, we were surprised by two different but highly significant signs of support for our method of working.
In marketing
terms, a business model
uses communication instruments
to attract customers or develop brand awareness and loyalty. There is always a degree of manipulation in such communication, as we try to influence human purchasing decisions through persuasion
. Persuasion is therefore more than the simple act of providing information; it is a pro...
With the ILM available to make visible the invisible we have been able to look into the patterns of air pollution in our city at the level. We could build up cases and relate our exposure to pollutants to our own behavior and responsibilities. But our purpose driven and multidisciplinary interaction around the core values of health and air quality...
The way we build our human complex societies, their rise and collapse, can be related to the amazing working of our individual and collective consciousness and the (lack of) willingness to address fundamental change. Using the personal path finding and determination of our founder as an example we reveal the coming about of the ideology behind Sust...

Phase 1 referred to making visible the invisible from an air quality and human exposure perspective. Phase 2 studies air quality related to health and Phase 3 looks at air quality, health and lifestyle from the perspective of persuasion to inn...
Part 1 of this paper summarizes the author’s perspective about human evolution, which includes observations about the quantum leap that we are about to experience that will be preceded by chaos and enlightenment. Part 2 describes the author’s experience with a new sustainability venture in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, which takes the form of a new m...
When Jean-Paul Close returned to Holland in 2001 he found himself returning to a society that he no longer recognised compared to the one he had left in 1974. The resulting culture shock had a significant impact on his personal life and the way in which he started looking at human organisations. Previously, he had taken society for granted and assu...
