The main objective of this project is to develop a small-scale wind turbine for low-speed regions. The project comprises analysis of existing technologies and comparison of different approaches for optimizing the technology.
This project aims to propose a battery supercapacitor hybrid energy storage system (HESS) with a novel Kalman filtration-based energy management system to preserve the battery state of charge (SOC) enabling longer range and a flattened battery state of health (SOH) function thus enabling longer battery life. Following that aim, there are several objectives. 1. Simulation design of the full system including battery and supercapacitor. 2. Design of a novel Kalman filtration-based energy management system 3. Design and implementation of required power electronic converters for laboratory testing purposes. 4. Implementation of the full hardware system in a real vehicle and field testing.
