Conference Paper
Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jak dřeviny v agrolesnickém systému ALS ovlivňují na teplotu vzduchu a půdy, vlhkost půdy, množství fotosynteticky aktivního záření PAR, množství srážek a rychlost větru. Všechny výše zmíněné parametry, kromě rychlosti větru, byly porovnávány s prostředím konvenčního pole (POLE) a výmladkové plantáže rychle rostoucích dře...
Conference Paper
The aim of our work is to evaluate promising agroforestry systems (AFS), which would combine conventional plant production farming with (narrow) belts of coppiced trees for production of biomass, which would also provide valuable ecosystem services namely erosion control. For this purpose, we established a coppiced tree belt (CTB) at research stati...
Conference Paper
Large land blocks resulting from the socio-political changes after WWII in Central Europe show little resilience to (among others) long periods of drought. Having insufficient knowledge so far, we aim to bring more light into complexity of temperature and moisture regimes of agroforestry systems (AF) under specific temperate conditions. The effects...
Conference Paper
Conference Paper
Monitoring of microclimatic and soil-hydrological parameters has been carried out in three sites resp. stands: (i) an alley-cropping agroforestry system (AFS), (ii) a short rotation coppice (SRC) and (iii) a conventional crop field (CF: wheat in 2020, pea in 2021) in the Michovky research station of VUKOZ Průhonice since January 2020 by a complex m...
Conference Paper
Aim and approach used The aim of the study is to evaluate possibility of silvoarable agroforestry systems (AFS) - an innovative agronomy approach, which combines a conventional food crops with lines or belts of trees – for production of energy biomass. We have aimed to evaluate production, ecosystems economic aspects of AFS. As a model we have use...
Article
Hybrid sorrel is a perennial crop whose benefits include good wintering, early ripening, and relatively high biomass and energy yields. The average yields are usually in the range from 4 to 10 t ha−1 dry matter (DM) per year. Based on a long‐term study, a significant fertilization effect on hybrid sorrel yield was found. The crop establishment in s...

Reed canary grass (Phalaris arundinacea L.) is a perennial fast-growing C3 plant belongs to family Poaceae with an early season growth, a wide physiological tolerance and with large possibilities of utilization. Recently, the use for bioenergy has become very perspective mainly because its high yield (5–10 t dry matter ha/year) and very good proper...

Anaerobic digestion (AD) is a biotechnological process in which organic matter is microbially converted into biogas and digestate. Many parameters affect the underlying microbial processes, including depolymerization of organic compounds, acidogenesis, acetogenesis and methanogenesis, as part of the AD cycle. Optimal concentrations of different nut...
Article
Sewage sludge, lawn maintenance waste, fruit/vegetable waste and food catering waste were chosen for study as typical municipal biological wastes. Hydrothermal pretreatment was used to accelerate biological anaerobic digestion for enhancement of biogas/bio-methane production from tested biowastes. Mesophilic anaerobic digestion tests were used to e...

In recent years, the originally North American freshwater organism Pectinatella magnifica, belonging to the tribe Bryozoa, has mas-sively spread in Europe and other parts of the world. In the Třeboň Basin it has been occuring in marked quantities probably since 2003. In 2012-2015 hydrochemical and hydrobiological parameters of 22 water bodies were...

Pectinatella magnifica (Leidy 1851) is an invasive freshwater colonial animal belonging to the phylum Bryozoa. It is native to the area east of the Mississippi River, from Ontario to Florida. Currently it occurs throughout North America and the first record for it outside that continent was for Bille near Hamburg in 1883. Later, it was found in the...

Article
The freshwater bryozoan species Pectinatella magnifica was found in 6 sandpits and in 19 mostly extensively managed ponds in the Protected Landscape Area and Biosphere Reserve Třeboňsko (Czech Republic) from its first record (in 2003) to 2012. Mean fresh biomass and abundance of P. magnifica colonies were 0.6 ± 1.5 kg m−2 and 0.7 ± 1.1 colony m−2 (...

Some species of invertebrates especially bryozoans (Bryozoa syn. Ectoprocta) and marine sponges (Porifera) are very important sources of pharmacologically exploitable compounds. These substances are probably produced to protect themselves from fish predators and may be an advantage in competition. The real sources of compounds with these antipredat...
