Introduction
We research Data Governance Maturity within and outside private and public organisations. We use design science research (DSR) as method. We construct grounded maturity models. And you can find our emperically tested maturity models here together with our peer-reviewed published research. Your organisation can be part of this research by taking the online survey here: https://datagovernancematurity.wordpress.com/ Contact: jan.merkus@ou.nl

Relevance: This research aims to contribute to science by adding new knowledge about data governance and in particular a maturity model. First of all, there is a need for this research in the research community. It indicates that there is still no clear definition of data governance (Begg, 2009, Otto, 2011). Further literature pointed out that, pra...

Chaos emerges with the ever growing amounts of data and information within organisations. But it is problematic to manage these valuable assets and also remain accountable and compliant for them because there is no agreement about even their definitions. Our objective is to propose a coherent set of definitions for data governance and information g...

Context: Many Maturity Models (MMs) have been designed for over 40 years now but selecting the constructs which chart the application areas is at variance. When comparing MMs, application area-specific constructs appear to be divers. Nevertheless, some constructs are often similar. Objective: This research aims at finding generic constructs in ex...

To measure Data Governance, researchers designed a few Data Governance Maturity Models, but the used capabilities are very different, resulting in different measurement outcomes. This research aims to find a substantiated and validated set of Data Governance capabilities for Data Governance Maturity Models design. We apply the Maturity Model design...
