The project NuComE - RNA (Nursing Competence Estimation of Registered Nurses in Austria) aims at psychometric testing (construct validity and internal consistency) of the Austrian version of the Nurse Professional Competence (NPC) Scale on the one hand, and the assessment of nursing competencies in the upper level of health and nursing care in Austria on the other hand. The results of the cross-sectional study should contribute to the presentation of profession-specific competences and their characteristics in relation to different qualifications and professional experience in order to show possibilities for the formal recognition of potentially developed competences in the sense of "Recognition of Prior Learning".
