Introduction
James E. Gruber retired from the Department of Behavioral Sciences, University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2016. Professor Gruber does research on sexual harassment in workplaces, colleges, and high schools. He has explored various dimensions of the problem of sexual harassment for over three decades---why and where it occurs, how targets (most often women) handle harassment (and why), the effects of harassment on physical and psychological well-being, and the impact of policies and procedures to curb harassment. He has served as an expert witness in sexual harassment legal cases for over 30 years. He has conducted international research on these issues.
