Introduction
I am researching new methods for simulating collisions and contacts between objects that move according to the laws of physics, when one of those objects is real and the other one virtual. I also explore the factors that affect the perception of physically based interactions between real and virtual objects. Multisensory simulation models of physically plausible interactions will be developed, using captured data and machine learning for real-time simulations in Mixed Reality applications.

Currently, strawberry harvesting relies heavily on human labour and subjective assessments of ripeness, resulting in inconsistent post-harvest quality. Therefore, the aim of this work is to automate this process and provide a more accurate and efficient way of assessing ripeness. We explored a unique combination of YOLOv7 object detection and augme...

In this paper, we present a novel real-time physical interaction system that allows users to throw a virtual ball without using an intermediary device such as a controller. A dataset of throwing motions was captured from six actors, from which ground truth Point of Release (PoR) frames were calculated. We trained a PoR prediction model using motion...

Recent years have witnessed an increasing interest in deploying state-of-the-art augmented reality (AR) head-mounted displays (HMDs) for agri-food applications. The benefits of AR HMDs to agri-food industry stakeholders (e.g., food suppliers, retail/food service) have received growing attention and recognition. AR HMDs enable users to make healthie...
