Introduction

Para se aprimorar o sistema semi-hidropônico de produção de pimentão para as condições do Distrito Federal, uma série de ensaios está sendo proposta que permita a avaliação de tipo de recipiente, tipo de substrato e composição de solução nutritiva sobre variáveis fisiológicas, fenológicas, de produção e de qualidade da produção da cultura do pimentão (Capsicum annuum). Concomitantemente será feita uma análise de custos e viabilidade econômica das práticas e tecnologias avaliadas. O conjunto destes resultados permitirá, por fim, a recomendação de um sistema de produção semi-hidropônico de pimentão adaptado às condições climáticas e ao perfil sócio-econômico do produtor desta região, o qual seja eficiente na utilização de nutrientes e água, produtivo e rentável.
