Absorptive capacity as a set of organizational capabilities in the context of established firms has been heavily explored in the relevant literature. But when it comes to the business formation phase and especially to the creation of knowledge intensive entrepreneurial ventures, knowledge inheritance of new firms seems to be more related to individ...

This chapter highlights the relation of knowledge intensive entrepreneurship with growth and competitiveness of European traditional sectors. We argue that knowledge intensive entrepreneurship in LMT sectors a) can contribute to overcoming competitive pressures from low-wage economies as it builds on knowledge intensive assets, promotes innovation...
This book contributes to the discussion about the relevance of knowledge-intensive entrepreneurship for industrial innovation in the context of traditional low-technology industries.
There is a widespread assumption that low-tech industries offer limited opportunities for entrepreneurial activity due to their mature character. Yet there are indica...

This paper deals w...
This paper considers R&D cooperation as an organisational form that amplifies and crystallises knowledge to higher levels through interaction. It is shown that absorptive capacity is the main condition for the firm to benefit in this context. Absorptive capacity is studied in terms of its antecedents and constituent elements aiming to avoid tautolo...

The introduction of new elements in the Greek Science and Technology policy has not been followed to the same extent by an explicit concern for the promotion of R&D co-operation.
