Introduction
I received my BSc. in “Digital Systems” (2010), M.Sc. in “Technology Education and Digital Systems” (Track: e-Learning) (2012), both from the Dep. of Digital Systems Un. of Piraeus, Greece and my Ph.D. (2022) in the field of Augmented Reality in STEM education from the European University Cyprus, with a full tuition fees scholarship. Since 2011, I've been involved in many EU funded research projects. My research accomplishments include publications in many international conferences and journals.

The integration of mobile technology in education hasrevolutionized the way learners access and consume knowledge, at all levels of education, including Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Due to an increased demand for digital transformation in education, e-learning support centers (eLSCs) are expected to facilitate and lead this transition and...
The European project EL-STEM: Enlivened Laboratories within STEM Education, aimed at fostering an innovation “ecosystem” in secondary schools for students 12-18 years of age that can facilitate an effective, user-centric design and use of Augmented Reality (AR) in STEM education. Partners developed, implemented, and evaluated a teacher professional...
Inspired by the trends towards “smart education” and following the needs that arose from the COVID-19 pandemic, which functioned as a technological catalyst, this research focuses on the investigation of the ways the emerging technology of Augmented Reality (AR) could be integrated into STEM-related courses in Lower Secondary Education, having posi...
This chapter provides an overview of (1) the current situation concerning teacher professional development (TPD) programs through studies referring to existing challenges; (2) the TPD programs under discussion that have been implemented during the last three years (2018-2021) in the context of European projects, including their structure and descri...
