Introduction
Igor Perko is an assistant professor at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business, Slovenia. He is appointed as a director-general in World Organisation of Systems and Cybernetics (WOSC) and co-editor of Kybernetes, an JCR indexed scientific journal. In his research work, he is connecting the use of systems thinking, cybernetics, big data, predictive and prescriptive analytics. He is passionately involved in joining active people and organisations in the systems thinking and Cybernetics community through his activities WOSC. He is an author and editor of multiple professional and research publications, among them he co-edited a book “Cybernetics and Systems: Social and Business decisions”, based on the WOSC 2017 Congress contributions.

Namen in cilje društva uresničujejo člani z naslednjimi nalogami: - prizadevanje za dosledno uveljavljanje znanstvenih in strokovnih spoznanj s področja raziskovanja in pospeševanja TS&K, ki spodbujajo razvoj celovitosti, ustvarjalnosti, sodelovalnosti in drugih sposobnosti, vrednot in pripomočkov za čim bolj uspešno obvladovanje zapletenih procesov, pojavov in problemov raznih vrst; - proučevanje teorije in prakse TS&K; - strokovno izpopolnjevanje članov društva za obvladovanje podjetniške, družboslovne, tehniške, ekonomske, naravoslovne in druge problematike s pomočjo teorije in prakse TS&K, pri čemer tudi prireja samostojno ali v sodelovanju z drugimi strokovnimi organizacijami doma in v tujini izmenjavanje strokovnih znanj; - organiziranje kongresov, simpozijev, svetovanj, seminarjev, predavanj in drugih oblik strokovnega dopolnilnega izobraževanja in prenašanja sodobnega znanja TS&K na člane društva in za širšo javnost; - sodelovanje s sorodnimi strokovnimi organizacijami doma in v tujini na področju pospeševanja in raziskovanja TS&K; - lastno izdajanje oziroma sodelovanje pri pripravi ustrezne strokovne literature s področja delovanja društva v skladu z zakonom o javnih glasilih; - prispevanje k razvoju poklicne etike, kodeksov in načel s področja TS&K; - opravljanje raziskovalnih in uporabnih nalog, ki lahko prispevajo k razvoju TS&K za potrebe društva in na prošnjo drugih subjektov. Društvo lahko ustanavlja za uresničevanje teh nalog v skladu z zakonom nove oblike organiziranosti, kot so Institut za sistemsko raziskovanje, fondacije.
