Introduction
I have interest in population ecology, behavioral ecology, natural history and species interactions directed to biodiversity conservation. I have experience in feeding ecology of bats, monitoring of primates in the wild, as well as monitoring and management of terrestrial mammals (Cerrado, Pantanal, Atlantic Forest, Caatinga and Amazon Forest). I am currently focused on understanding how the costs associated with reproduction of primates can determine its quality food. I use as a model the Brachyteles hypoxanthus.

Primate thanatology, or the study of primate responses to dying and death, has become increasingly relevant in recent years. However, the number of reports remains small and the quality of published records is highly variable. Here, we extend the literature on comparative thanatology with observations on a population of the northern muriqui (Brachy...

Insect herbivory has been observed to be affected by habitat loss and fragmentation, although the mechanisms by which these anthropogenic disturbances affect this process are not well understood. To aid in clarifying this issue, we assess the relation between forest cover and leaf damage caused by herbivorous insects on a representative tropical fo...

I tried to show the experience I had to live 14 months in the forest monitoring a population of northern muriqui (Brachyteles hypoxanthus), in a language directed to children. The text, even if indirectly also talks about doubt and uncertainty we have in life, achieving dreams and overcoming. I hope to bring good feelings for children and to encour...

We observed Yellow-chevroned Parakeets (Brotogeris chiriri) consuming soil from arboreal termite nests while excavating a nest cavity. As most observations of parrot geophagy come from clay licks, this observation prompted questions about the benefits of consuming termite nest soil rather than ground soil. We compared nutrient contents and chemical...

Pre-dispersal seed predation by specialist insects can affect the performance of plants, and the morphological, morphometrical and physiological traits of fruits/seeds influence the degree of predation. Senna occidentalis is a weed found in degraded pastures and plantations, which is poisonous to cattle and other domestic animals. This study tested...

This study had as objective to evaluate whether the pillaging activity by native bees influences floral abscission. Samples were collected in ten individuals of Bougainvillea spectabilis. In the period between May 4 and June 1 st, 2009, 2,874 flowers were collected on the ground and 2,895 from the plants, with three-day intervals between each colle...
