Ultraviolet-C (100 nm to 280 nm) germicidal lamps have proven effective for surface and air disinfection for 50 years, but the only means of validating their performance is with field trials using bacterial cultures and UV-C radiation sensors. This fast-track project aims to modify our existing architectural and horticultural lighting design and analysis software (which has been in commercial use for 25 years) to model and predict the performance of upper-room germicidal luminaires, ceiling-mounted sterilization luminaires with far-UV excimer lamps and visible light LEDs, and in particular mobile UV-C and pulsed xenon lamp platform and autonomous robots.
