Textile industry generates large amounts of water that is contaminated with dyes from different steps of processing; these dyes affect the aesthetic merit, water transparency and gas solubility of water and wastewaters, and also affect the photosynthesis of aquatic plants. The present project aims to prepare novel nanosized photoctalysts M2Zr2O7 (M=Fe and Ga) and to study the ability of the prepared materials for photocatlytic and elctrochemical degradation of harmful pollutants which are often present in industrial effluents as model substances under solar-visible light and also treatment of the real industrial wastewater to meet environmental regulations and laws concerning the disposal of wastewater using cost effective techniques. It will be great to use the treated water for agriculture reuse or for reuse in industrial processing.
