Introduction
I am the founder and Director of MaisH International Language Consulting. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Translation, and a specialization degree in Education Methodology (PUCRS) and in Terminology (UPF, Barcelona). I have a Master’s degree in Education (PUCRS), whose theme was on intercultural practices in the English language-teaching; being an educator has opened up opportunities beyond the classroom as a curriculum and program developer. I am also a PhD in Language Studies; the main focus of this research was the teaching of translation of scientific literature through the use of concept mapping.
I am a former Associate professor at the School of Humanities (Course of Modern Languages and Literature) and in the specialization program in translation (PUCRS). I was the pedagogical coordinator of LEXIS: the Language Center and the Dean of the Office for International Cooperation at PUCRS. Over the past thirty years, I have dedicated my career to providing language education with commitment, concern, and openness, from which I gained valuable experience in teaching different types of audience and in varied educational contexts. Not only had I the chance to coordinate ELT programs but also evaluate and implement changes in the curriculum of the Course of Modern Languages and Literature at PUCRS. My areas of interest are English Language Teaching, international/intercultural education, medical terminology in translation and translation pedagogy and plain language. I have published articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals in the areas of Education, Language Teaching, Terminology, and Translation. I coordinate the DicTrans (Pedagogical Multilingual Online Dictionary about Bipolar Disorder) project, which was partially supported by CNPq and PUCRS. I have published articles in various national and international peer-reviewed journals and a senior reviewer at the IAFOR Journal of Education (https://iafor.org/journal/iafor-journal-of-education/editorial-board/).
