Introduction
Focus of my phd studies is the development and validation of different tools applicable in the field of sports and nutrition sciences. My main interest lies in tools giving insights into biomarkers that are associated with health and performance. In the course of my studies, I am gaining detailed insights into various methods, such as glucose monitoring or analytical procedures using lc-ms/ms.

Background Sports nutrition science and practice • In theory, sports nutrition guidelines intend to support health and improve performance by adjusting energy and nutrient intake to sport-specific demands. • In practice, athletes often fail to align dietary intake to sport-specific guidelines, resulting in suboptimal energy and nutrient intake jeo...
Article

Despite the availability of nutritional recommendations, studies have reported inadequate nutrition in athletes. The existing literature highlights the importance of the nutritional knowledge of both athletes and coaches in influencing athletes’ food choices and behavior, as well as its direct and indirect impact on athletes’ performance and health...
Conference Paper
Introduction: Nutritional knowledge has been shown to be one factor influencing nutritional status and diet-related decisions among athletes. Assessing knowledge status allows the identification of knowledge gaps, which can subsequently be addressed during nutritional counseling. This study aimed to assess sports nutrition knowledge of athletes aff...

INTRODUCTION Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) has become popular as a supportive tool in diabetic therapy. As CGM devices measure glucose in a minimally invasive manner in the interstitial fluid (ISF) in a frequency of 1 min-1, there is growing interest in the application of CGM systems in professional sports and research of glucose kinetics (Ho...

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of detraining following a block (BLOCK) or daily undulating periodized (DUP) resistance training (RT) on hypertrophy, strength, and athletic performance in adolescent athletes. Twenty-one males (age = 16 ± 0.7 years; range 15-18 years) were randomly assigned to one of two 12-week intervention gro...
