An innovative approach to address the issue of narrow bandwidth in reflectarray antennas have been demonstrated using organic substrate materials. Three robust paper based substrate materials with controlled material composition have been proposed with efficient dielectric material properties. Material characterization results show low dielectric p...
Article
A novel combination of X – band reflectarray antenna printed above paper based substrate material has been presented for microwave antenna application. Paper substrate materials with controlled compositions, characterized using dielectric probe shows dielectric constants of 1.68 and 1.74 and loss tangents of 0.074 and 0.082 respectively. Reflectarr...

span>This article presents an analysis of reflection loss and reflection phase behavior of a novel microstrip reflectarray antenna, embedded on paper substrate material. Two different paper substrates were first analyzed for dielectric material properties. A detailed analysis of scattering parameters of rectangular patch element with variable subst...

span>This paper presents an analysis of reflection phase of reflectarray antenna based on high loss organic substrate material. Paper substrate material derived from recycled materials was characterized for dielectric material properties. The material shows excellent dielectric material properties with permittivity of 1.63 and loss tangent of 0.048...

This paper presents novel loss quantization of reflectarray elements based on organic substrate materials. Three differently composed substrate materials derived from recycled materials have been characterized for their dielectric properties using a broadband analysis technique. The materials show low dielectric permittivity values of 1.81, 1.62 an...

This research presents an innovative solution to address the bandwidth limitation of microstrip reflectarray antennas. Organic substrate materials with controlled compositions have been characterized to be employed as substrate materials for microstrip reflectarrays. The three proposed materials show low dielectric permittivity values of 1.81, 1.64...
Article
Full-text available
This paper presents three novel substrate materials with efficient dielectric characteristics. Different types of innovative substrate materials used for microwave electronics have been discussed. It has been demonstrated that the repeatability of results for paper substrate based electronics can be maintained using the proposed substrate materials...

This paper deals with the design, fabrication and performance evaluation of a dual C slot compact reflectarray element. It has been demonstrated that the progressive phase distribution of array elements can be achieved by minor variation of C slot widths, without changing the entire patch dimensions. A comparison between measured and simulated resu...

A novel design of a dual frequency single layer reflectarray antenna is presented for X-band frequency applications. Dual U slots embedded on conventional rectangular microstrip reflectarray have been designed to attain a dual frequency operation. A detailed analysis of the effect on surface current distributions with the introduction of dual U slo...

Question
How do we calculate the radiated power of an aesa radar if it is using 80 T/R modules, while each TR module produces 26 dBm of power. Will that be simple arithmetic addition to 32KW or there is some other procedure to calculate the EIRP.
Question
What is the principle difference between RF RMS Power Detector, log Power Detector and RF Envelope detector?
What is their application difference and I want to detect a received signal envelope (Pulse Modulation) at 10 GHz which type of detector would work best?
Question
Many data sheets for power amplifiers state the P1O ( 1dB compression point) and Psat (saturated power) levels of the device. what is the difference between them, are they same?
Question
In a transmitter chain with a power amplifier feeding an antenna, a commercial isolator is providing 18 dB isolation, will that much isolation will be enough for a 15 W power amplifier, so that it may not get damaged by any reflection due to mismatch?
Question
The linear movement of charges on a dipole antenna and monopole results in a linear polarization of the antenna. In case of a conventional micro strip patch antenna the charges move along the length of patch and produce linear polarization.
So on a circular polarized path there should be two direction of motion of charges for two polarization??
So is there a mathematical relation or theory related to it .i.e,
'vector movement of surface charges determine the polarization of antenna'?
