Introduction
I am currently reading for my PhD in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and simultaneously employed as an AI research scientist and AI lecturer in the Centre for Data Analytics and Cognition at La Trobe University. I worked as a Technical Lead at WSO2 API Manager team. I was responsible for design and develop features for the middleware products. I'm a graduate from Computer Science and Engineering Department of the University of Moratuwa. I'm passionate in exploring new technologies.

Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices are interconnected objects embedded with sensors and software, enabling data collection and exchange. These devices encompass a wide range of applications, from household appliances to industrial systems, designed to enhance connectivity and automation. In distributed IoT networks, achieving reliable decision-making...
The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) systems, such as predictive AI, generative AI, and explainable AI, is in contrast to the slower development and uptake of robotic AI systems. Dynamic environments, sensory processing, mechanical movements, power management, and safety are inherent complexities of robotic intelligence capabilities t...
Highlights
What are the main findings? Smart Cities as Hyper-Connected Digital Environments generate large and diverse data streams and repositories that do not consistently translate into insights and decisions.
A Responsible AI Hyper-Automation framework with Generative AI agents is developed and evaluated to address these complex challenges.

Text classifiers are Artificial Intelligence (AI) models used to classify new documents or text vectors into predefined classes. They are typically built using supervised learning algorithms and labelled datasets. Text classifiers produce a predefined class as an output, which also makes them susceptible to adversarial attacks. Text classifiers wit...
Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) is heralding a new era in AI for performing a spectrum of complex tasks that are indistinguishable from humans. Alongside language and text, Generative AI models have been built for all other modalities of digital data, image, video, audio, and code. The full extent of Generative AI and its opportunities, cha...
Internet-of-Things (IoT) technologies have been steadily adopted and embedded into energy infrastructure following the rapid transformation of energy grids through distributed consumption, renewables generation, and battery storage. The data streams produced by such energy IoT infrastructure can be extracted, processed, analyzed, and synthesized fo...
Building energy baseline models, particularly machine learning-based models, are a core aspect in the evaluation of building energy performance to identify inefficient energy consumption behavior. In smart city design, energy planners and decision makers require comprehensive information on energy consumption across diverse building types as well a...
Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS) have become a pivotal component of the smart grid infrastructure as they facilitate energy exchange and trading. With the increasing use of micropower renewables generation from wind and solar within residential houses and buildings, HEMS now plays a critical role in not just managing energy usage but assisting...
Rapid urbanization across the world has led to an exponential increase in demand for utilities, electricity, gas and water. The building infrastructure sector is one of the largest global consumers of electricity and thereby one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing building energy consumption directly contributes to achievi...
The rapid advancement of the energy sector in terms of diverse energy generation options and increasing energy consumption loads has eventuated the need for highly accurate demand forecasting methods. The prevalence of large volumes of energy data streams and sophisticated Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms has enabled a rapid transition to AI...
Microgrids and energy platforms have become increasingly intricate in nature. This is especially true in platforms adopted in large multi functional complexes which are spread across geographies of varying climactic conditions. Many of these complexes have evolved over time as organisations have grown and diversified, this has resulted in a mix of...
In this paper we introduce UNICON, a large-scale open dataset on UNIversity CONsumption of utilities, electricity, gas and water. This dataset is publicly released as part of La Trobe University’s commitment to Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2029, for which we are building the La Trobe Energy AI/Analytics Platform (LEAP) that leverages Artificial Int...
Hyperdimensional (HD) Computing leverages random high dimensional vectors (>10000 dimensions) known as hypervectors for data representation. This high dimensional feature representation is inherently redundant which results in increased robustness against noise and it also enables the use of a computationally simple operations for all vector functi...
Recent advancements in Artificial intelligence (AI) have led to its widespread adoption in healthcare applications and services. The global pandemic has further hastened the integration of AI into telehealth services, such as service quality improvement and new models of care. This paper focuses on the service quality improvement of telehealth, spe...
Time series forecasting is a critical requirement for the optimal operation of energy grids, systems, and platforms, where the forecasting challenge itself can span across energy consumption, renewables generation, and energy utilisation. Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms and models have been leveraged to predict these time series forecasts w...
The dark web has been confronted with a significant increase in the number and variety of onion services of illegitimate and criminal intent. Anonymity, encryption, and the technical complexity of the Tor network are key challenges in detecting, disabling, and regulating such services. Instead of tracking an operational location, cyber threat intel...
Digital transformation driven rapid movement towards the digital economy resulted in an elevated
amount of cyber risks and cyber threats for nations. In this feat, RESTful Application Programming
Interfaces (APIs) are identified as the core building block of the backbone network which connects
billions of people, businesses, devices, data, and proc...
Healthcare systems across the world are transitioning into patient-centered healthcare models to ensure improved health outcomes, increased operational efficiencies and respectful patient engagement. Digital health technologies are at the forefront of this transition in facilitating a role for the patient in the clinical dimensions of the healthcar...
The lockdown measures of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic have disengaged patients with cancer from formal health care settings, leading to an increased use of social media platforms to address unmet needs and expectations. Although remote health technologies have addressed some of the medical needs, the emotional and mental well-being of these patien...
The rapid growth in autonomous industrial environments has increased the need for intelligent video surveillance. As a predominant element of video surveillance, recognition of complex human movements is important in a wide range of surveillance applications. However, the current state-of-the-art video surveillance techniques use supervised deep le...
We sought to enable better interoperability and easy adoption of healthcare applications by developing a standardized domain independent Application Programming Interface (API) for an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. We leveraged the modular architecture of the Open Medical Record System (OpenMRS) to build a Fast Healthcare Interoperability...
