Betula utilis subsp. jacquemontii (Spach) Ashburner & McAll. is a medicinally and ecologically important tree species in the Western Himalayan Region (WHR) of India. Estimation of genetic variability and population structure of 11 populations of B. utilis subsp. jacquemontii in the WHR were carried out using 15 ISSR and 10 DAMD markers. The cumulat...

Bergenia ciliata (Haw.) Sternb. is a perennial medicinal herb distributed in Indian Himalayan Region (IHR). A total of eight populations of B. ciliata were collected from diverse locales of IHR, and 17 EST-SSR markers were used in this study. The present study revealed moderate genetic diversity at the locus level with the mean number of alleles (N...

Bergenia ciliata (Haw.) Sternb. is an important herb predominantly found in the Indian Himalayan Region. It is widely used in medicines, healthcare systems, cosmetics, fodder, and ornamental purposes. The Illumina sequencing and de novo transcriptome assembly were carried out in B. ciliata to develop and identify simple sequence repeat markers. A t...

Question
I have tagged the SSR primer with FAM dye and fragment analysis done using ABI 3730xl. The primer belongs to the diploid organism, it should have either one or two peaks in the case of homozygous and heterozygous conditions, respectively, but it is showing multiple peaks. Why is it happing? I can't understand the reason behind this issue.
Thank you
