Introduction
I started in 1990 working with the gillnet fishery targeting G. galeus (and secondarily S. guggenheim). Then I studied the discarding and survival of elasmobranchs in trawl nets. At the same time, I became interested in the reproductive biology of elasmobranchs (G. galeus, M. schmitti, S. acanthias and several species of rays). I am currently studying the relationship between lecithotrophy and matrotrophy in sharks. I have also developed skills/experience in curating ichthyological collections.
