Updated information on pelagic shrimps collected in the southeast Pacific is provided. The study is based on recent expeditions during the last decade off the Chilean coast and on the material of the 1962 Eltanin expedition to Peru and Chile (cruises 3–5). This material was deposited in the Museum Support Center of the Smithsonian Institution but h...

Percnon pascuensis is redescribed based on adult specimens collected in Easter Island (today Rapa-Nui). The gonopod (first two pair of pleopod of males) structure is described by first time and compare with the other species of the genus. The analysis conclude that P. pascuensis is closely to P. sinensis based on the gonopods morphology. P. sinensi...

Pasiphaeoidea is one of the least studied Caridean group to worldwide. Composed by 101 species, the monophyly both Family and Genera and the inner relationships between genera are unknown. Some phylogenetic studies that include material of Pasiphaeid show a parafiletic but not conclusive arrangement. The scope of this work is test the monophyly of...

The glass shrimps belonging to genus Pasiphaea are scarcely registered in Chilean waters, with just 5 of the 66 species recognized today. Of these Pasiphaea acutifrons is reported erroneously to some localities in different oceans, this due basically to an ambiguous diagnosis. Recently, a paper was published that analyze the taxonomic status of thi...

Easter Island is the most remote locality in the Pacific Ocean. The endemism rate is about 36 to 42%, but in decapods crustaceans the endemism is just about 12%. Recent papers show new additions to decapod fauna of Easter Island, but some groups like Alpheidae they have yet to be studied. Some other groups like Anomurans false crabs, with low dispersal abilities are shared with other localities in the west Pacific. The low endemism is an artifact of absence of taxonomic and molecular studies or is an effect of biogeographical connections with other localities? The goal of this project is evaluate both taxonomical and molecular the decapod fauna of Easter Island.
