Cooperatives and stakeholder ownership companies could be essential for the promotion of economic growth, development, and job creation in rural America. Moreover, it has often been emphasized in an Arctic and Sub-arctic context that these organizations may be an operational means to create a transition from the traditional economy to what I have e...

USA's trofaste vasal, uanseelige Danmark minder en om musen og elefanten galoperende over en traebro. Musen siger stolt til elefanten: Hold kaeft hvor vi gungrer. Joost Meerloo, author of "Rape of the Mind", "compares the reactions of citizens living in totalitarian states to those of people with schizophrenia. Both rulers and the governed are sick. A first approach to comparisons leads to an anomaly suggesting the necessity of empirical analysis in the two regions. Why is it that Greenland never really managed to create a cooperative movement? Except for consumer coopera...
Article
Using survey data from employee ownership firms, the author examines employees' perceptions of being employee-owners. It appears that the employees do not really consider themselves to be employee-owners, and they do not see their status in the hierarchy change. These findings are implicitly distinct from recent research on employee stock ownership...
Article
This article presents results from two studies implemented in the USA from 1990 to 1993. A main finding of the studies was that participatory decision-making in employee ownership firms seems to be a key explanatory variable to relatively faster growth rates than in conventional firms. Other indicative findings on participatory employee ownership f...
