Introduction
I have an academic background in chemistry and experience in fermentative processes and enzyme immobilization. My current research is focused on enhancing the catalytic performance of metagenomic lipases by using deep eutectic solvents for kinetic resolution of racemate and sugar ester synthesis.

The lipase from Pseudomonas fluorescens was immobilized on chitosan beads, with polyaldehyde starch (PAS) and glutaraldehyde (GA) being compared as crosslinking agents. With PAS, the best values for activity retention (53%), immobilization efficiency (94%), and hydrolytic activity in organic medium (156 U g⁻¹) were obtained with an aldehyde content...

This study investigated for the first time the production of β-glucosidase from Penicillium roqueforti ATCC 10110 by solid state fermentation using the forage palm (Nopalea cochenillifera) as a substrate. For the optimization of incubation parameters, time and temperature, the central composite rotational statistical model was used, resulting in an...
Article
Nitrilases and nitrile hydratases/amidases hydrolyze nitriles into carboxylic acids and/or amides, which are used in industrial chemical processes. In the present study, twenty-six microorganisms, including yeasts and filamentous fungi, in a minimum solid mineral medium supplemented with glucose and phenylacetonitrile were screened to evaluate thei...
Article
The production and direct employment in organic medium in the synthesis of ethyl oleate of a solid fermented (FS) containing lipases of Penicillium roqueforti ATCC 10110 (PR10110), was investigated. For the production of this FS, the solid state fermentation of different agro-industrial waste was used, testing: cocoa shell, sugarcane bagasse, sugar...
Article
The present study assessed the use of crude multi-enzymatic extracts (CME) obtained from solid-state fermentation of cocoa bean shells by Aspergillus oryzae ATCC 10124 in the extraction of ginger essential oils, without the use of additional steps, such as drying, which could cause some compounds to volatilize. A Doehlert matrix was used in the opt...

The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of cocoa shell as an alternative substrate for the production of endoglucanase and xylanase by Aspergillus orizae ATCC 10124 in solid-state fermentation. The fermentation assays were performed using cocoa shells humidified with distilled water. The parameters incubation temperature, water activity...

The variety of products derived from milk, without or with lactose, encourages the development of more effective analytical techniques that can be applied to the quality control of both the production line and the final products. Thus, in this work an efficient and minimally invasive method for the detection of lactose was proposed, using a biosens...

This paper aims to evaluate the use of the cocoa shell residue as an alternative substrate for the production of endoglucanase by Penicillium roqueforti ATCC 10110 in solid state fermentation. In order to do so, the process was optimized and biochemical properties were investigated. The Box-Behnken design was utilized for verify the parameters: inc...

Candida kefyr has been considered both a food-spoiling agent and a type of yeast with fermentation properties. In this study, the authors have evaluated the antimicrobial activity of a coconut oil-in-water emulsion associated to the presence of C. kefyr. Fresh coconut kernels were used to obtain the coconut oil-in-water emulsion, the sterile coconu...

A large variety of lactose low-content products is available to consumers nowadays, the processes and products involved require a better lactose quantification and determination. In this work, the electrochemical parameters for mixtures of carbon paste, carbon nanotube and lactase were evaluated, aiming the development of an amperometric biosensor....
Article
The aim of this work was to enzymatic saccharification of food waste was performed by crude enzymatic cellulolytic extract produced by P. roqueforti cultivated in yellow mombin residue. The best yield of reducing sugars (259.45 mg g⁻¹) was achieved with sugarcane bagasse after 4 h; the hydrolysis of corn cob, rice husk and peanut hull resulted in y...
