We are carrying on a field research at the Strait of Messina (Southern Italy) using radar equipment and visual observations to collect data on bird migration both during day and night. The migration of birds at this site is relevant in spring as well as during autumn. During the day tens of thousands raptors are observed each season, while during the night the migratory flow of passerines is impressive. We are analysing the Influence of weather, time of the day, flock size and specie-specific differences on the migratory flow of birds.
